Re: i need advice

Not sure what the best way to go about it is...but just wondering what your reasons were for breeding him?

I know a breeder who has got loads left from his last clutches because they are not selling at the moment. and he had them cheap enough at £20 each.

Just consider this as you may be left with alot of beardies to care for.

There are alot of helpful sites on the net and Im sure someone with more breeding knowledge then me will come along and help you.

Re: i need advice

On another note...if you are serious about all this (I read your other thread) I do know someone selling a breeding pair. These beardies have been checked to the eyeballs and are suitable for breeding, and produced healthy clutches last year. Where abouts are you?

Re: i need advice

I don't think that's a very good idea. For a number of reasons, one of which has already been explained, but mostly because you don't seem to have the right knowledge or experience.

If you did, you would know that Beardies are solitary animals, and prefer to be alone.
If you introduce a female to your male, they will more than likely fight. You could end up with missing toes, tails alsorts.

And then of course, say they do breed, what then?
Do you know how to properly care for the eggs?
Do you have an incubator?
Do you have homes for all of the babies?
What about vet bills that may arise, are you prepared for those?

Re: i need advice

Beardies are over-bred and you're very unlikely to make any money.

Re: i need advice

Hun you really need to read up on beardie keeping and care of them ....... and breeding them is a very serious matter, there is a huge amount of care needed and cost involved with very little return .......... however if you are going to do it I hope you have deep pockets well filled, for a first time breeder, setting up you will be looking at £500 ++++
