hello all
am new to lizard care i am still in the "research" stage of getting the beardies i don't plan on getting them till march 2010 i am in process of getting quotes for vivs around the size of 48L 30H 24D my 1st question is is this a good size for 2 dragons the space in my bed room is limited to 48L but i could go deeper or higher to fit more space 2nd i was thinking of buying "High color Morhp" not sure if that's the right term for them found it here Fire and Ice Dragons i know its a American site not found any UK breeders yet that do this kind of thing main part of this quest is are these types of beardies harder to raise than the more common types of dragon Part 2 is, is it wrong to buy lab bread dragons what i mean is i already care for 3 lovely rats and there is no way i would buy from a pet shop as i know most pet shop buy there's from rat farms is this genetic Morhp color something simler ? 3rd is when trying to avoid impaction i was thinking of getting retri carpet X2 one always washed dose any one know of any draw backs to using this stuff |

Re: going to get some beardies
I've used a 55L for my first Beardie. And it was a perfect tank size for his entire lifespan.
He's still alive, but I sold him, before him and another female had offspringed. I now have a huge tank, with one juvenile Male Beardie. And he's calm, and happy in his new environment. Think before buying many of these beatiful creatures. |

Re: going to get some beardies
I've also got a 55l viv and have 1 adult male and a juvenile female who get on very well....the problem with buying two beardys at the same time is they are very difficult to sex when they are young. I bought my male first then once he was old enough to sex I then went back to the same reptile specialist and bought my female beardy....the specialist was kind enough to keep hold of what we thought was a female beardy long enough so we could sex her! I do agree with Snuggles about the two males together....defo no no! My two are now living very happily together.
Good luck! |

Re: going to get some beardies
4ft X 2ft X 2ft is big enough for 1 dragon only u need to add a foot in depth and length as you add one more so they have plenty of space. if you look on RFUK there are many UK breeders and experts on there as it is more focused on reptiles.
hope this helps ![]()

Re: going to get some beardies
Hiya, in answer to your first question about the colour morphs, I myself love them! I would recommend this website, Bearded Dragons For Sale - BLOODBANKDRAGONS.COM, as it's not just easier to see, but their expo-month is coming up soon, which would be much cheaper than buying them off-expo. All you have to do is give him a quick email and I'm sure he'll give you his latest price list. I also recommend in keeping beardies... I miss my two dearly and can't wait to get a new one :-)
