Re: bearded dragon behaviour query

its really hard to give an answer with such limited information, like zoe said can you describe his setup? size of vivarium, what UV light you use and how old it is? also the temps? do you mean he has the white unshed skin on him? if so you could put him in the bath for a little soak in warm water for about 10 mins but make sure u keep the water nice and warm. he could be unhappy because his viv is too small, my beardie started acting really unhappy when he was in his old viv and when i moved him into his 4x2x2 he perked up.

Re: bearded dragon behaviour query

what temps are the viv do you have a thermostat. The viv does seem small, i think the bare minimum is 3 x 2 but even to some people thats too small. for one single beardie.

Re: bearded dragon behaviour query

i would say your problem is the size of that viv, you wont be able to get a proper heat gradient from hot to cold with something so small im afraid, that size viv would be ok for a baby but would soon outgrow it. you need to upgrade to something along the lines of 4x2x2 even a 3.5x2x2 would be ok. DKDREAM asked a very important question regarding the thermostat(not thermometer) you need one of these to regulate the temps if not your beardie will overheat especially in a viv so small. You will also need a thermometer with a probe so you can measure the temps in the basking spot, ambient temp, and cool end temp these are very important.

Re: bearded dragon behaviour query

And juvenilles should not be kept on any particle substrate. I say remove all the sand and put him on newspaper or paper towel for a few months.

I personally don't even keep adults on particle substrate. Floor tiles are better than any substrate.
