Thinking of getting a baby beardie!

Hello everyone!
this is my first post in this section im usually in the digs section but i have a question!
now i have owned a bearded dragon before he was fab but me and my partner got him just as we had moved house (stupid i know, we should of got sorted first but it was love at first sight)
anyway we had to get rid of him as just didnt have the money or time for him so my sister has him now. But now i have moved again and we are all sorted now and i was thinking of getting another 1, a baby 1 this time.
So my question is, are they expensive to buy (as our other one was given free of charge) and also are they easy to tame as it will be a baby not used to being handled?
Any advise would be great -x-

Re: Thinking of getting a baby beardie!

baby beardies can be abit jumpy, theyre generally hand tame from birth, but there is the odd few who run around like maniacs lol, some gentle handling often and itll be tamed up in no time, i keep lots of reptiles myself and used to work with them, any questions, feel free to ask

Re: Thinking of getting a baby beardie!

Hi,

Baby bd's are easy to handle you just have to make sure they are handled every day. For a baby i would advise against using sand in the viv, one of mine ingested some when he was after food and made him poorly, so i would reccommend you use kitchen towel or lino.
Make sure there is salad available daily.
This was our first bd

And a pic of the viv's (homemade)

Hi

Your new bd looks well at home climbing is always a good sign because they are active, mine wasn't and all he did was hide for about a week.
