dont no what newt i own

hi guys someone gave me a fish tank with fish in there to put with my fish. there was a newt in there with the tank, they said red belly newt, but it has a yellow spots all over the belly, its about 5 inch from head to tail. eats blood worms and ground worms a treat. i have just been to feed her but its shred its skin, i like the newt but would like more info to look after it properly. JAY

Could be a fire bellied newt as they can have yellow bellies if they are captive bred.

I don't know though but didnt want to read and run, try posting some pictures and hopefully some one with amphibian knowledge will be along to help you out.

sounds like a warty newt probally Pachytriton labiatus or could be Paramesotriton chinensis

just had a look at your photos ,Paramesotriton chinensis, a type of warty newt. nice
