Need advice on my bearded dragons

Hi my boyfriend has got a bearded dragon named Bella who is 16 and a half inches, he bought another female today thats 12 and a half inches he was curious to see if they would get along straight the way so he placed her in the viv the little one was chilling on Bella and Bella didnt seem bothered no sighn of aggression, they even eat abit together and took a bath together, after the bath i put them back in the viv together cause everything seemed fine, 10-15 mins past. . then Bella started puffing her beard and decided to try and bite the little ones tail, so i removed them into seperate vivs
i need some advice on how to successfully introduce the new beardie when she is around the same size as Bella!

Thanks!

i'll attach some photos i taken earlier!

Re: Need advice on my bearded dragons

it may never work as beardies aren`t really social animals, only thing i can think of is placing them both in a new environment when the new one has grown big enough to do this, you should never place a new dragon into another ones enclosure as they can be highly territorial , they should have been kept seperatly for a while anyway to contain any disease just in case

Re: Need advice on my bearded dragons

I would suggest being prepared for them never working out together. Some people I know have had males and females live together as a couple in a tank without aggression (except at breeding time where the males can get a little crazy), but most have been bought at a similar time or have grown up together. There is definitely a likelihood that adding another beardie to an existing beardies home will not work out and if you want to keep both, another setup will be needed!
