They were having waxworms from the breeder and I bought some and put a few in the salad bowl but was advised not to give them to them due to them getting fat so stopped that.
Was also told of horror stories of mealies eating their way out of young beardie head...... gross ........so haven't given them any yet.
Tried all green salad leaves (not iceberg) and curly kale, also carrot.
Makes me laugh they sit with cocked heads watching the crickets eat away at the salad but nope they wont dive in.

Thats a myth about mealies eating through their guts etc, mine all have them and morios (giant mealworms). They just shouldn't have too many mealworms because they contain chitin which can clog them up and in some very severe cases cause impaction. you can always use mini mealworms if you prefer as they are smaller, maybe not so scary
Also give them locusts as they love them.
Add something with a bit of colour to the veg bowl, some tiny bits of red or yellow pepper, grated butternut squash, little chunks of apple (peeled), melon, mango, pear, raspberries....obviously not all at once and make sure you vary it.....these should only be added in a few times a week and NEVER give them avacado or rhubarb....it's poisonous to them.
