Leatherworker in Ludlow says hello!

Greetings,

I trained as a harness maker years ago but now have a 'one man and a dog' business making all kinds of leathery things including the odd collar and lead. I've come here to find out about different breeds of dogs as I'll be looking for a pup very soon. My dear old Border Terrier, Mrs Brown, is now more than ten years old (she was a rescue dog so I don't really know how old she is) and needs a youngster around to keep her spirits up!

Ray

Re: Leatherworker in Ludlow says hello!

Hi, I'm Daggre.

I have a labradoodle, and she's great. Fantastic temperment, but then, any dog can with the right training.

If I was you, I'd be looking at low energy breeds, as opposed to something like a collie, because your older dog probably won't want a hyperactive puppy running veerywhere. I mean i think puppies are hyper to an extent but hopefully you know what i mean.

What size dog were you looking at?

Re: Leatherworker in Ludlow says hello!

hi and welcome from another border terrier fan, we have 2 girls poppy who is 4, Meg who is 2 and a jrt who is 13 next month. good luck in your search for a puppy, if you are thinking of another border i could possibly put you in touch will a few possible breeders. pip was 8.5 when we got poppy and your right it does give the oldie a new lease of life, better to get one now than wait any longer as it's not fair on an old dog to get a pup if they are very old. we waited until our 17 and 19 year old's went before we got Poppy.

Re: Leatherworker in Ludlow says hello!

Thanks for all the kind words, folks. I'm almost certainly going to be looking for either another Border Terrier or maybe a rough coated lurcher. Any help or advice gratefully received!

Ray
