Howdy & HELP!

Hi. I went a looking for an aquarium on the cheap. The owner ended up giving me 2 tanks and too many tenants! He piled all the critters into one small aquarium and before I knew what to do with them all the 11 inch plecostomus had eaten a hole in the back of one of my softshells! The plecostomus has been re-homed.

I have been to local petstore (here in Arizona) and they recommend I find a forum because they really do not know what to tell me. I have not studied turtle anatomy yet but it looks like the pleco ate clear through to a spine structure - something bony with holes in it. This turtle does not act as healthy as the other one although he is still eating and swimming about.

Everything I got is of course very dirty and I am having difficulty staying on top of all of this. Another pet store sold me a product called "Repti Turtle Sulfa Dip". My experience with fish has taught me that there are medications marketed for fish that will kill them as well as the illness you are trying to treat. So I was hoping to get feedback here on the product mentioned above (by a company called "ZooMed". I was also hoping if anybody really knows what I should do to save this guy. Forgive me - I simply do not have time to search all old threads in hopes of finding answer.

I don't know the answer either, but good luck with treating him. Maybe you should post the question on the main "fish forum" board (I think there is one, I'm new here so forgive me if I'm wrong), more people might see it then. x
