Thought I'd do a quick introduction - Im Alice, I currently own a horse but Im now after a dog So hoping to get a bit of advice about some breed types Im interested it.

I'm looking at Beagles, Airdale terriers and Finnish lapphunds - bit of a difference between them I know

My mum works part time, (half a day weekdays) but I'll be starting college in september and won't be at school all day, so the potential dog won't be left alone for any longer than 2-3hrs (is that ok?!). We plan to get him/her soonish though so we've got a good 10weeks to get them settled at home whilst we're all on summer break. With my horse, the yard I keep her at has fields with bridleways/footpaths so perfect for taking the dog out on

If you go onto Champdogs - Champdogs - The Pedigree Dog Breeders Website - they have detailed breed guides that tell you alot about the breeds you are interested in and also give lists of owners, breeders and puppies - if their is someone who you like the look of then give them a ring for a chat - as with all dog owners I'm sure they'll talk the hind legs off a donkey about their own breed and you'll soon get a picture of which dog suits you best
