New Member - Stone Pet Portraits

Hi,
I'm what the americans would term a "vertical artisan" which is somebody who creates stone or rock features on walls or on a stand alone basis. I used to draw pet portraits in pen and ink form but now I'm trying to develope the sculpting side to areas previously unseen in the UK.

Basically, if anyone would like a stone effect relief sculpture of their pet please let me know and as this is a relatively new area for me, I'm quite happy to do some at minimal cost.

Other areas I'm looking at developing are:
Outside Pet homes in stone (kennels in the form of a rock or a tree trunks etc)
Pet landscapes in the form of stonework in an aquarium for example.
Rock aquarium housings (i.e. housing your aquarium inside a floor or wall standing rock formation as opposed to on a stand against a wall)
Stone memorial plaques

I'm still developing my web site but you can view some of my creations at www.flickr.com/photos/creativerock

I look forward to hearing from any of you

John

Re: New Member - Stone Pet Portraits

Hi Ash, thanks for that. I've got lots of ideas along these lines and coincidently one of them is for memorial plaques with an inserted photograph!.....so what would you recommend for a photograph in a waterproof (perspex etc) sealed unit and to what size could this done? Similarly, If it were to withstand foot traffic, what could it be made of?

Cheers
John
