Red face New Cat Owner

Hi

Have just got myself a 2½ year old Silver Tabby called Millie and she is gorgeous - well most of the time, not at 5.00am in the morning when she is dancing on the bed and causing havoc. Always had dogs but this is my first time of owning a cat and its all a bit new to me. Slightly nervous today as she is at the vets getting spayed. Fingers crossed she will be okay.

Re: New Cat Owner

Millie is back to normal after her op, unfortunately she pulled her stitches out, took her back to the vet last night and she got staples put in. By the time we got back to the house (less than 5 minutes) she had pulled one out. Back to the vet - another staple put in and the collar. By the time we got home again the collar was off and a staple pulled out. I sat up with her most of last night to stop her licking and pulling. This morning it didn't look as red as it was last night. There is no way she will wear a collar, I have also tried a bandage round her which she got off.

I don't know what to do next. Would really appreciate some advice. Going to ring the bet but know they will say bring her in to get it re-stapled. I don't think staples are the best idea. HELP!!!!

Thanks,

Karen

Re: New Cat Owner

Hi and welcome really think you need to keep the collar on her as she will be sore and might get infections with all the licking etc on the wound, good luck and hope all goes well.
