hiya, im another newbie :)

hi, im Vic, im almost 24 and my partner and i have 2 cats aged almost 12 months, not from the same litter, but are now inseperable!

Diesel we dont think he was 8 weeks when we got him, he was unsure of his litter tray and was very small, the vet thinks he was about 5 weeks bless him, but was advised to use the 8 week mark up anyway. He loves to sit and cuddle up to me, still suckling a lot, a very soppy male, (i have no idea if thats normal) he likes to wash me and fall asleep.

we then about a week later got out little female Jazzy, she was exactly 8 weeks! very prim and propper and seemed like a posh kitty untill she learnt how to play in mud and comes home very muddy most days. She loves been picked up and fussed, but just recently been on heat, i went outside to lock the shed and have a natter to the neibourgh and diesel learnt how to open the door to get into the living room where she was!! and now she appears to be off heat! so im a little concerned now the little monkey him! not sure if anything happened or not though, so came on here for advice.

looking forward to talking to you all

HI and welcome

I would suggest you got him "fixed" and if you dont want a litter get her spayed right away which will terminate the pregnancy if there is one. If he stays entire he will more than likily spray round the house and she can call and ou will have a host of tomboys outside in the garden.

GOod luck and welcome again
x

Re: hiya, im another newbie :)

oh we do want her to have 1 litter then were getting her spayed, i was just hoping to hold it off untill she was 2.
my family all want one of her babies when shes ready to produce, so good homes all round (if i can give them up, haha)

as for getting Diesel done, he hasnt sprayed once in the house, its the other cats in the area spraying in the garden. and ive been told if we get him done it could change his temperment, is this true?

i can't answer that one as the only male cat i owned was when i was 7 and my parents dealt with that end of things LOL.

Well good luck if she is pregnant just remember to get her spayed asap after litter or she can start calling and become pregnant again right away. pretty much.

Time will tell on the pregnancy thing though.

Re: hiya, im another newbie :)

dont worry she will be spayed asap after the pregnancy (if she is of cause)!

i have been keeping her in still as there are 5 local toms after her, there is one ginger one and he doesnt know when to give in, hes taken to sleeping on the shed and waiting for her, but he gets sucked in as im not letting her out lol. i could do with a way to stop them 5 cats spraying in the garden though, it stinks!
