Yorkie Dog Advice

Hi Newbie Here
This is the first time I have posted; until recently I had 2 Yorkies Girls Penny aged 10 and Tara aged 8, tragically we lost Tara 2 Months ago with Kydney Disease (God Bless Her) The 2 Dogs had been best friends for 7 years Penny misses Tara terribly and still looks for her every day, My dilemma is would it be advisable to home another Yorkie ie a puppy at this stage, bearing in mind how old penny is, looking for some advice.
Kind Regards
Keith(UK)

hello and welocme to the forum,,im sorry to hear you have lost Tara,, it must be upsetting for you as well as your other dog,, as for taking on another dog, well thats a hard question,, if you got a puppy would it annoy your older girl,,,,what about rehoming an older dog,????? what is Penny like with other dogs,???? you wouldnt want to rehome another dog and it upset her any more than she is allready upset, only you know what she is like , would she be happy to share her home with another dog,???? i wish you luck in whatever you decide, and keep us posted to,,

Hi and welcome, it is a dilemma but you know your dog best what is she like with strangers dogs? would she accept an older dog into the fold? she may find a puppy a bit much for her to cope with but why not try rescue and find an older dog who has lost somebody of her own? they tend to work out better than a pup when there is an older one to think of because they are steadier and also need to be loved.

Good luck in what you decide
