Smile Newbie saying Hello

Hello all

I am new to both this forum and the world of dogs. We are the rpoud new owners of a beautiful Beagle puppy called Ruby who is now 14 weeks old. we have had her for 4 weeks and are still very much getting to grips with the joys of puppyhood.

All advice on toilet training, biting, and general commands greatly appreciated.

looking forward to getting to know people.

Lyndsey (& Ruby)

Re: Newbie saying Hello

Hi Lyndsey (& Ruby)

Welcome to the fun and crazy world of owning a Beagle!

Have you had one before...?

We also have a Beagle pup, Bella (she is 9 months now so we are a little ahead of you!) She is our first Beagle, but we have had Labs and a golden retriever in the past. It is very true what they say that hounds are different to other types of dogs, but we are complete converts!!

Anyway welcome to the forum - everyone here has always been really helpful, friendly and supportive to us here, so I hope you recieve a similar welcome!!

Helen

Re: Newbie saying Hello

Thanks everyone,

no Helen, we've never had a dog before nevermind a Beagle so it is a real baptism of fire so to speak. We did our research before so kind of knew what we were letting ourselves in for but I don't think any research really prepares you. It's harder than having a new born baby - at least they wear nappies!!!

The toilet training is proving the hard part, I'm sure she is just being stuborn now but we are being very patient.

We took her for her first walk yesterday which was great, only a short walk to start with but the kids and Ruby all loved it. (and us most I think)
