new guy my dog is ill need advice

hi all

well my dog ben he is a cross germ shep/ dane+ridgeback
hes 13 and was ok till last week he become lame not eating much or getting up
this got worse over a week so off to the vet thay cheacked his heat and breathing then said he is old and has got arthri so ok gave him a jab and gave me carprieve two pils once aday ... so ok next day he was brighter he got up woobled and whent to the garden to do his bit twice and ate food the next day was all down hill so me and my son carried him on a blankit to the vet just to be told give it a day or two longer ... well seeing him unable to walk getting out of breath so quick and when he trief to go for a wee he colapse and mess him self ...... so i rang again to be told bring him in we do a blood test i get him ther today me and my boy carring him as he can no longer stand or go to the loo to be told carnt do blood test to monday as thay got no wear to keep it and that its not just arthrightus ther something more worse and he may need a scan or some thing ...... iam, lost my dog is in great distress cant walk wont eat carnt wee or no2 laying on the floor breathing like he just run a mile .............i see no more time in waiting i think ...... this is it i should not let him suffer any more
advice please

So sorry to hear about your dog hopeing he is a bit brighter today, be careful with the Carpreive though it is an anitinflamatory which can cause internal problems so a blood test is definatley in order, everything crossed here for you all x

hi all thanks for your replys this is the first day after loseing ben
he lived with my mother his room is wear my pc is and it aint the same i used to come into the room to be greeted with him he would not leave me alone to i made a fuss of him ......now.....well it hurts
iam off to the vet today just to let them no that he wont be in for the blood test thay should of done at the start and that what thay tought was wroug with him was not the problem and that i feel let down and this is not the first time

i pick up my buddys ashes on wensday he be comeing home again
he would have beein 14 in jan

things just wont be the same this house this room
