Meet my boys

Hi everyone,
I've been a member for a few weeks now but totally missed this section! Oops!!!
I am the proud mummy to two dogs. Dennis is my 2 year old boxer and we just got Fletcher who is a 9 week old cocker spaniel. I've always had dog's in my life but never had two at the same time. But I am so glad we decided to get another dog.
My OH and I went round in circles deciding on this. We would get all excited about the idea and then one of us would get nervous about it and we would forget about the idea. But obviously we made the choice to just go for it. When we got Dennis as a pup we were totally unprepared for it. We went through some very hard nights and long days. Its not been a walk in the park with Fletcher but it has been a lot easier. I do credit the breeder as Fletcher is a very confident puppy and will not be pushed sround by an oaf of a boxer.
It is still early days but I can tell we made the right decision. When Dennis go's out on his walks he will come running in and check his little brother is still here waiting for him! We cant wait until they get to both enjoy the walks.
If I've done this right I've attached a few photos.
I look forward to getting to know everyone and I've already found this site very useful. Normally in the early hours of the morning when one of the dogs has done something and I wonder if it's just us going through it. Reading the threads and peoples replies helps. I just need to get the hang of using this and figuring out all the codes eg OH i assume is other half!!!! But thats as far as I've got!!!

Re: Meet my boys

ahh thanks guys, I always thought they were cute but I am obviously biased.

Bambam82, my OH and I read so much about introducing the dogs, there is a lot of info out there.

In the end we let them meet in the garden, we had Fletch on my knee and let Dennis have a very good sniff of him. We then let them get to know each other in the garden for a while. The breeder for Fletcher told us to always fuss over Dennis first as he has had nearly 2 years of our attention and suddenly we are making him share it!

The two of them get on so well. Everyone has their own way of introducing dogs to each other. But what we did worked for us. Just to point out we didnt leave them alone, we still keep an eye on things as they do need to be seperated when their playtime gets a bit out of hand.

Nearly two weeks on and things are going good. Dennis is a different dog, he has always been a bit nutty but thats boxers for you. However having Fletch around has been a positive influence on him. He is a lot calmer and even our friends and family have noticed this.

Bambam82, I'd love to hear how things go for you. Keep us updated
