Rosie is on a distinguished road
Hi from Rosie

Hi, I'm Rosie...I live on the south coast, with other half, daughter, and until recently, my precious Westie. Hubbie and I went on holiday and came back to a distraught daughter - our darling dog died whilst we were away.

I feel just devastated.

Anyway, I work at the local gynae. hospital, four days a week. I would like another dog eventually, but now that I work longer hours I don't know if I should - but I really want one.

I love reading, and also writing - at present I'm working on a novel, and it's my dream to get something published.

I have three children.

I love all animals, support Manchester United, and plan one day to run off with Joe McFadden (Heartbeat).

Re: Hi from Rosie

Hi and welcome, Rosie! So sorry to hear about what happened to your westie. Even though you work, if you feel you can give a dog a good home you should have another. I write too - I've had short stories and poems published, and co-wrote a soap opera on the local radio, but haven't managed to find a publisher for my novel yet. It's still doing the rounds of the publishers - well, it would be if I didn't keep getting disheartened and actually sent it out! What genre is your novel?

I think I'd call it "family drama". I'm writing it with someone in Canada - the time difference doesn't help! We've been working on it for 2.5 years, and have done some 350 pages. We hope to have it finished by Christmas.

What genre is yours?

I hope you succeed with it - but it's great that you have had short stories published. I've written some but have never summoned the nerve to send them off.

I'm so pleased you said get a dog anyway - I know it's best if you can be at home, but I would hate to deprive myself of the joy of a dog. I know it's selfish, but the house is so empty. My daughter doesn't want one yet - she feels that making a fuss of another dog would be a betrayal. And I must admit, I want one so that I can fantasise a bit...although I genuinely believe that I would love another dog for itself too.

I loved it then, too. I haven't watched it until the new series.

Thanks, everyone - your comments are very much appreciated and I'm glad I found this place - it's so friendly.

Welcome to the forum.
Sorry to hear about your little dog - when the times right for you all, get another one, I work and my dogs are perfectly well adjusted. I think
