Golden Retriever puppy

Hello Everyone,

I am new to this site and am investigating getting a Golden Retriever puppy again - and would be grateful for advice on how to be as sure as you can be that the dog is not from an unscrupulous breeder, and that it will not have health problems as a result of this.

Any advice and suggestions on how not to fall into these traps would be much appreciated!

hello and welcome to the forum, try the kennel club they have a list of breeders.
I would always make sure you see mother and litter mates, and if you are ever suspicious about a breeder do not buy from them. If you want to go away and think about it and they pressure you into buying there and then there is usually something up, all reputable breeders will want to make sure you are happy with your decision, its best for both you and puppy. You should always ask if the parents of the pup your interested in have both been health tested and ask for proof of this.

Hello and welcome.
if you contact the Golden Retriever Breed Club, they carry a list of Breeders with puppies available. Before breeders are allowed to go on this list they have to submit copies of all health tests to the club so they list only reputable breeders.
