Hello everyone!
Introduction.
Hi everyone. My apologies if the next line sound like an advert but it's difficult to describe what we do without giving you a few details!
I run a small business called HolidaysForDogs.com and as the name implies, we provide holiday accommodation for people with as many dogs as they can responsibly handle. This means that we come across a huge variety of dogs and I would like to know more about some of the specific breeds and why their owners chose them over other breeds. We've had many German and Belgian shepherds, Labradors, Airedales, Dobermanns, Rottweilers, greyhounds, Collies and many others. While I can understand that some people can only manage a small dog(s), I'm puzzled why some people keep breeds such as English setters, which make a bid for freedom at every opportunity with no intention of ever returning. I'd be very worried that after one mistake, I might never ever see them again, but some people do take the chance.
We have two (rescue) Dobermanns here as pets and they're a super bunch of dogs. They don't tend to wander, and they do keep an eye on the farm. If anyone strange comes here, they're thoroughly checked out until I arrive to check their business myself. They particularly like guarding the sofa. Being a farm, though not a working farm, both our resident dogs and visitors have as much freedom as they like although the visitors cottage does have a fully enclosed & floodlit garden should they prefer to keep their dogs closer at hand. We also keep details of dog friendly beaches, walks, pubs, and other attractions, so even people not actually visiting us can check out our website for hints of how to have a good day out locally. Still, if you want to find out more, check out the website and I'll try not to mention it again.
