Re: Hello - English Bulldog Owner Saying Hello!
Hello!
Thanks for posting! My friend has 2 bullies - both boys. He is the person who introduced me to them, since then we fell in love! They are so charismatic! Just 10 days to go before we pickup little Winston, however he will be bigger than when we first met him! We cannot wait..... we have loads of goodies, and hae prepped the house up already! Please post up some pics of yours!? Chris.

Re: Hello - English Bulldog Owner Saying Hello!
Sorry I got the dates wrong didnt I! I thought it said August...I must remember not to sit sipping on a vodka & lemonade while reading these messages
![]() Ive attached 3 pics in my profile, can you not seem them? Im new to this & Im at work at the moment so if you cant I will have to figure out how to get them into a message. I need to take some more recent pics really, I dont have many of my boy Vinnie. He is dark red with just white on his chest and face. Lulu is 4 months older then Vinnie, she is red & white but like a gingery red I supppose. I had my heart set on a red & white bitch and luckily she was the only one in the litter, the rest were like Winstons littermates, brindle and white. Lulu thinks she is human and loves people. She has to be the centre of attention and if she sees kids having tea parties or sat playing with dolls she has to go and sit in the middle of them and be a part of it. Vinnie is totally opposite and is quiet and shy with people, more interested in confronting other dogs. He is petrified of the car and shakes if you even say the word. He is very active and loves playing with toys, bones & balls but will not share! Tut Tut! Just a word of warning with regard to any toys that you have bought for Winston, try not to leave him on his own with them unless you are sure he wont eat them as we bought Vinnie those Nylabone hard bones when he was about 1 yr old...the ones that are meant to the best to get.......it wasnt until he was foaming at the mouth, not eating or drinking and coughing up blood and in it was half a bone that we realised what he had done. I had kept them out of the way but he found one in the garden and spent a couple of nights in the vets on a drip, poor boy, but thankfully he was fine so now he is banned from anything that he may be able to swallow, I only buy huge rubber bones and leather caser footballs for him although he has still managed to puncture those! ![]() |

Re: Hello - English Bulldog Owner Saying Hello!
Winston is a very fitting name for a bull dog. My brother picked up his bull dog a month ago and oh my god cant believe how much hes grown. He is very gassey though. But fab with the kids and very soft in nature. He also loves the other dogs he meets.

Re: Hello - English Bulldog Owner Saying Hello!
BDL - just spotted the pics! They are both fine examples of english bullies!
I absolutely love Vinnies tongue out photos though! Thanks for the tips on the toys/bones, I have been told the same by my mate, I have also read it in 'The Bulldog' book by Diane Morgan. I can't wait. I am puppy proofing the home this weekend [removing all downstairs 4 month old carpet - then installing a wooden floor]. Then we are picking him up next Saturday! Sullivan - I am quite gassey at times [I am a kind of bodybuilder so eat way too much protein] so Winston will fit in fine! He he!

Thankyou, the one with the tongue out is Lulu, Vinnie is the darker red of the two. Their heads are totally different shapes, Lulus teeth & tongue stick out all the time bless her, whereas Vinnie has more of a nose but he snores terrible. You can hear him through the floors at night, its really bad. We were camping once and someone went past at night and giggled talking about the man snoring loudly and we were inside thinking, er nope its our dog! ha ha Dont know what food your breeder is bringing Winston up on but I would recommend Royal Canin Bulldog 24 for when he is older. We have changed to this and their fur has gone so glossy and soft and they hardly ever have wind! You can really tell the difference although I wouldnt recommend you eating it if you also suffer from gas! ha ha ![]() A week tomorrow, lucky you, looking forward to seeing pics of Winston as he is now, they dont stay small for long! |

Re: Hello - English Bulldog Owner Saying Hello!
Thanks for the tips! I might give some of that Royal Canin Bulldog 24 a go [for myself! ]
So funny about the snoring, bulldogs are very prone to that! It will be like having my dad sleep over! He should be alot bigger than the pic I posted by now..... we'll see! I will post some pics up soon! Thanks Vix
