Re: what can a Giant African snail have?(food)
Hi,
As "Metame" has already said leafy greens etc are great. I also give my lot, Butternut Squash (good souce of Calcium) Sweet Potato Cucumber Broccoli Grapes Strawberries Mango Savoy Cabbage Carrot (sliced very thin) Tomato's (with seeds taken out) Alway a big piece of Cuttle fish Lime stone once a month sprinkled on their substrate. Hope this list gives you some ideas Jingle Bells. |

Re: what can a Giant African snail have?(food)
You know those bags of pre-packed salads? Mine really like those. There's loads of vareity and it saves you buying different things for them to eat. Mine also like tomatoes but they go bad really quickly, especially in warm humid conditions so make sure you remove them soon after they're finished with them to prevent mould.
Something different is if you soak brown bread or cat/dog biscuits in a bowl of water until they swell. My snails LOVE wet cat bics. |

I have read that you can give Bread and Dog/Cat food, However, I was a little concerned about the Salt content. Could I ask what Cat/Dog bics do you give your Snails? Many thanks, Jingle Bells. |

Re: what can a Giant African snail have?(food)
I have a cat too so sometimes i just put a few of her biscuits in a jam jar lid, top it up with water and they absorb it like sponges and swell. I use the go-cat brand. And i do only use it as a treat. My snails have eaten it plenty of times and they're both perfectly healthy. It's good to vary their diet as much as you can because they can very quickly become fussy eaters.
