I give mine loads of different things... dandelion leaves, red peppers, potato and carrot peelings, marrows and courgettes. And eggshells for calcium- to help the snail shells grow (eggshells are better than cuttlefish bone because they are not as high in salt).

I've had one now for about 5 years, and he/she's grown ALOT since then.
When i got him he was pretty small, and now his shell alone is the size of my fist, and a little bit more
He is cute
They eat anything and everything. i give mine lettuce, carrots, tomatoes, cucumber, apple is his favourite.
His name is Harry

Re: GALS How much do you vary their diet?

Mine eat all kinds of veg. Cucumber is always a fave. You know those bags of mixed leaved you can get at the supermarket? They're a great idea because it means they always have something different.
You dont have to vary their diet but they do enjoy it. PLus it's interesting to see what they favour.
Cat biscuits are popular with my 2. Soak them in water for a couple of hours to soften them and then just drop them in. I stick them in a shallow dish of water to keep them moist.

They dont like citrus fruit or onion, no. I tend to stay away form the more acidic fruit and veg.
