Thanks cant wait for the pics
By the way I havent exactly ran the idea past my dad about getting a Snake yet but he said I could have a lizard and Corn Snakes are easier to keep than some lizards

Re: Needing Advice from Insect. Experts

It's great you are doing some research Connor, but didn't you dad say you couldn't have nay more pets until your hamster and fish had passed away? You are looking at atleast a year.
What I would recommed is keep doing lots of research but don't get too involved in the ins and outs of buying one just yet, until you know for sure you can.
Don't want you being upset when you find the perfect snake that you can't have.

Corn Snakes are ideal beginner snakes though - just start saving up your money now, as £70 won't get you very far with reptiles. I know we were initially talking about insects, so that would have, but not reptiles - they are expensive pets to look after and vets bills etc.

Re: Needing Advice from Insect. Experts

Thanks everyone

Within that year there is my Birthday and Christmas in which i get an average of £140 and im also selling items on eBay aswell to gain more money. I also get £10 per month pocket money ( I used to get £20 but now have to pay a Phone Contract ) also my dad has said he will pay a lump sum in aswell.

I found a Corn Snake starter Vivarium set at £132 at Exotic Pets - Amphibian, Reptile and Invert UK exotic pet shop and Zoe might be holding back one of her Baby corns for me and I am willing to pay atleast £20-£25 for one.

The Vivarium Starter kit is as follows

Corn Snake Kit - Vivarium
Flat Pack 18"x15"x15" Vivarium (Oak, Limed Oak or Beech)
Light fittings + 40 wattage bulb
Heat Mat 7x12"
Habistat Temp Stat 300w
Two Exo Terra Thermometer Liquid Strip
Exo Terra Thermometer Dail
Exo Terra Medium Snake Cave
Cork Bark
Aspen Bedding - 5 Litre Bag
Exo Terra Medium Water Dish
AVS - Corn Snake Manual Book

Hope that gave some of you people an idea of what I have been looking around for

Geko!

Re: Needing Advice from Insect. Experts

sorry conner but sadly iam unable to get the pics of the male as at the moment iam having to hand rearer a baby hamster and so cannot travel down to my college to take pics of the male as the hamster needs feeding every 2 hours and has to be kept warm.

really sorry mate but basically he is either pretty much exactly like the female or he has a completly orange head (with no markings on it) and dark orange markings down the body.

will get pics as soon as possible but probz wont be untill august the 14th

Re: Needing Advice from Insect. Experts

Btw my dad has decided that I am not allowed one I am really p**sid off!

My mum now says I cant get any exotic pets so I guess I will just move my expertise to tropical fish if it is possible I believe that this topic should now be locked and deleted and I will make a tropicla fish topic some other time.
