Question Garden Snails?

I was thinking about garden snails before, and then I thought;

'Hey, is it possible to keep garden snails as pets?'

Can they live inside?

(Not that I'm planning to do it, I'm just interested)

Thanks

Re: Garden Snails?

Yuk. I've lived in some places in the past with house snails, some have come through the catflap, but they have been damp hovels so I shouldn't think snails would like to live in a nice comfortable centrally heated home like we do. I reckon the compost heap is snail heaven, not a house. I'm no expert on snails though so I could be wrong.

Re: Garden Snails?

Yeah you could keep them as pets, just house them like you would GALS. However, it's something that's not highly recommended as all pets should be captive bred, rather than wild caught.

Exclamation Re: Garden Snails?

yup it is very easy just get a glass or plastic tank (which ever one you want)

keep them like GALS (giant african land snails)

check list:
tank or container
soil
water spray
some food (e.g cabbage,leaf matter,ect)

they need a lid on there tank at all times (except if the tank and snails are under supervision)

***note please only tank them if there are quite a few***
***note if they have young please release them where you found parents***

please pm me if you ned any more help

Re: Garden Snails?

You can come and take all these that we have. I've never seen so many snails. We went out and came back and there was 10 snails in front of my front door step.
