The eggs usually hatch after a few weeks but may be faster if its warmer. The white shell breaks away leaving the same sized baby snail underneath. If your eggshells are breaking up but there's no sign of snails, the eggs are probably not fertile. Snails are hermaphrodite and need to mate to produce fertile eggs. Even if they have mated not every batch of eggs will be fertile, for example when the snail lays eggs the first batch of eggs these sometimes don't hatch but the next batch does.
