Re: What Everyone Should Know When Buying A Land Hermit Crab

Just a little extra advice hope you don't mind emilee

All though hermies are scavengers in the wild, in captivity they need a really good diet to help them survive molting, they should be offered a varied diet as they get bored, also offer lots of different food each day.

In their tank there should be enough sand for your biggest hermie to bury down 3x its size, its not a wise idea to move your hermies when molting unless you really know the signs, and in lots of cases they don't always give a sign so always make sure there is enough substrate for them to molt in their tank.
The sand should not be wet but be of sandcastle consistency, they bury down and make under sand caves, if the sand is too wet or too dry they can't do this.
