Mantis trying to eat us!

We have a chinese mantis and today and yesterday for some odd reason he's attacked us twice! We had already fed him the day before so we didn't want to overfeed but we thought he may be hungry so we gave him a very tiny pinhead cricket but he's just done it again. Why is he doing this?

Re: Mantis trying to eat us!

Chinese mantids are know for being aggressive; that's why I prefer the ones from Ghana becuase they are calmer. You could give yours some water from a teaspoon to drink becuase that might help.

Re: Mantis trying to eat us!

Excellent advice thank you! I gave him a drink off a spoon and he gulped it down- he must have been thirsty!

I think the mistake we might have made was when we last sprayed he was out of the tank- perhaps a lot of the moisture had evapourated by the time he got back . Won't be doing that again!
