Barefoot treeless saddle what pad ??

Ive had awful trouble finding a saddle to fit my nearly 4 year old. I really wanted something under £500 to start him off in and let him grow, then eventually I planned to chose my dream saddle for us both. Silly me thought theres lots of chunky ponys about the saddles must be easy to come by, very wrong lol. Tryed the synthetic treed saddles none fitted him right, really wanted a native pony saddle but im going to wait until he is a bit more grown up for that.

He is so wide build like a tank so I thought I'd try a treeless saddle, got the barefoot cheyenne drytex to try, and wow it really fits him, wide enuf but seem secure although ive litrally only walked him round the yard in it yet. I have 7 days to send it back if I don't like it, but im edging more towards keeping it, I was worried it would be too long, its a size 1 and im pretty sure my bum wont fit in the size 0, it doesnt seem as bad as i imagine lenghth wise tho, but im so used to treed, other people may have better judgement.

So If i decide to keep it what saddle pad would be best to use with it? I walk him out in hand at the moment plans are to just hop aboard for 20 mins while out and let him get used slowly. Also what girth would work well for us? Anything else i should consider with this, im going to get the safty stirups, another thing he is going to have to get used to.

Any advice very much appreciated

Sorry not much help here as I have never used a treeless saddle before, but I am pretty sure you have to use the specific treeless saddle pads with them? Probably ditto for the saddle mounts too, I think I have seen them on the Robinsons website, HTH
