Re: what size

Most have gone off the actual topic here..

You will need to think of the following things first:

> Height
> Weight
> Riding Ability
> Disipline or Use (Hacking, SJ, XC, Dressage or general etc)
> Your horse or shared with friends/family
> Type of horse you enjoy (slow & lazy, calm & willing, fizzy & hyper etc)
> Sex - Mare / Gelding /Stallion
> Age

Once you have figured that out a type / size of horse should come to mind.

IE:

> Height -5'8''
> Weight - 9 Stone
> Riding Ability - Novice
> Disipline or Use - Everything
> Your horse or shared with friends/family - Odd rides from friends
> Type of horse you enjoy - Calm and willing to work
> Sex - Gelding
> Age - Mature

If your situation was like this then I would suggest a 15 - 16.2HH, 10 year old gelding. Easy to handle, mess around on, not spooky or silly and is happy to do whatever is asked of him.

Hope this helps!

Re: what size

Id say a chunky 12hh up, but your height would have something to do with it as well.
