Lateral Work - What is the best whip?

Hey guys! I'm currently doing lateral work, but what whip is best to use when practicing lateral work?

Hi debbsygirl! The most suitable option is the schooling / dressage whip. These are longer in length with a tassel on the end. This design enables the rider to keep their hands on the reins whilst using the whip on the rear or shoulder of the horse.

I always use a schooling whip, Makes life alot easier especially when you are trying to concentrate on you and the horse and not having to take your hands off when using a crop!
I found using a crop made me concentrate on that more than my riding so I swapped to a schooling whip and it is so much easier!!

What kind of lateral work are you doing? And is it for dressage or just general schooling?
