I show miniature shetlands ,and if I get one that unwilling to go forward I have a long dressage whip that I have in my left hand so it will touch small bottom,just the touch of something sends them forward and if you put it with the command then it should sort itself out.
By the way ,the best thing I have ever bought for mine to sort out the hairy coats is a furminator,its brill ,you end up with almost a pony blanket on the floor!!
