Oh, no! She's going to have a visit with the handsome man in the spring. Stallion owner is as disppointed as me (he's never had one not take even with AI so im suspecting dogdy vets now ) and immediately said i could try again even though with the frozen she doesnt technically offer a free return, or i could bring her there for live cover next year. We're going for the live cover.. I was just a bit suspicious about how the vet, as soon as he'd scanned her and said no got back on the phone to the practice to book her in again It cost me nearly £1000 - couldnt afford to do it again!

Re: Friesian Action Shots

I am surprised the stallion owner said that as AI is renowned for failing especially the first cycle.
I had 4 cycles with my mare before she took.
Yes I coould have bought a top class foal for what we have spent but I hope it will be worth it in the end.
Maybe she felt hard done by with AI and just wants the real thing lol.

Re: Friesian Action Shots

Yeah, i had heard that AI was more unreliable but this stallion had a fantastic track record with AI and live cover (he must have very healthy wigglies!!lol) so thought i'd go for that as it was less risk to my mare with infections and stuff - so the vet said!

But, yeah, i think she's just a tart and wants to be wined and dined lol! But, its working out ok really, as im backing her instead now and really enjoying that.
