Wave in neck

Ok the boy i am looking at getting has a wave in his neck (picture attached)

he is a PRE and they have said that its where he hasn't worked much and it will straighten with work. Now i'm only going to be hacking him so its not a real issue UNLESS its something serious which is why i'm here!

I am attaching all photos i have of him including the "wave" please let me know what you think. He is 12 years old and 15.2 if that makes any difference!

Hi

he looks lovely, I believe what your looking at on his neck is called a broken crest. I would say its mainly cosmetic, what do you intend to do with him

Just hacking, and teaching the children the basics a bit better! as he is ideal for kids to ride in fact he was ridden by a 14 year old until he got up for sale.

Will it striaghten out with work? I have never seen this before. is it something to worry about?

Re: Wave in neck

I dont think it should cause you any problems, it is mainly cosmetic so if you would be showing I would reconsider.

It would look worse if the horse becomes over weight as the crest will also become fattter and look to lean over more, also muscle tone will effect how it looks.

To be honest if he is a great family horse and that is the only fault I wouldnt worry

enjoy and good luck
