Re: Laminitis Help

Niether of my horses will touch bute - no matter how I try to disguise it. My vet always gives me Danilon now - and they eat it no problem.

Hope your pony is okay - i have a 31 year old pony who I nearly had pts 2 years ago because of severe laminitis - couldnt bring myself to do it the week before Christmas so decided to see how she was after the New Year and couldnt believe the difference in her. I only feed her a small amount of hay, and a hard feed of 'Just Grass', Pasture nuts and fibrebeet to keep her weight on - but all approved by the Laminitis Trust.

Considering how ill she was 2 years ago she races round like a 4 year old now.

Oh and she is only ever allowed out on grass for 1 hour a day - she goes on a hardcore compound with hay for the rest of the day and in at night.

Good Luck with your horse

Ok - The vet has said that she is convinced that Poppy HAS got Equine Metabolic Syndrome, despite testing negative for it!
Anyone got any experience of it? (Good or bad!)
Thanks! x
