Question Saddler Advice!

Hi everyone,

I have decided that with this years Christmas bonus I am going to buy a new Saddle. At the minute I have a Lovatt and Rickett GP but have found that it is too heavy and Star isnt very comfortable in it! I want another GP and want it fitted but not overly fussed about the make as long as it fits her and we both find it confortable!
I live in Kent and wondered if anyone had any suggestions of good saddlers in my area?

Also I am looking for someone to Clip her for me, Anybody know of anyone good and value for money?

Thanks!

Re: Saddler Advice!

If you were nearer to me i would have clipped for you
Sallde wise depends if you want leather?? if i could choose anything i would go for a wow saddle, but i have a t6 gp cob for my bou and i love it
Had the t6 dressage for my last boy and if was fab!!
As for saddeler i would ask your instructor or go by word of mouth some dodgey ppl about, the lady who i got harry off had be sold a 17.5 hi-wither eek:
He is a 15.2 cob x tb!!!

Re: Saddler Advice!

Such a shame your not closer then! I need to learn how to do it really but just dont trust myself right now lol She is soooo fluffy already though and rugging her is getting annoying because of her getting too hot because she has sooo much hair but its raining constantly at the min and I dont like her getting soaked lol
I am considering seeing if I can get mine re-flocked first so that I dont go and spend a fortune if there is something I can do with mine... now just need to find a saddler to do it! lol
Want to do dressage with her next year so will be investing in a dressage saddle so I will definately look into the t6 dressage!
Thanks

Re: Saddler Advice!

I am in love with my Stubben dressage saddle! It was pricey but well worth it. It has different coloured leather panels which is different to other saddle makers. It is quite similar to this - but mine is havana/choco. Google Image Result for http://www.toptack.co.uk/files/Modell%20Dressur_%20Stobben%20Genesis.jpg
It comes in many different widths and sizes and also has a cut back pommel for high withered horses. The leather is of brilliant quality and will last decades!

Hope this helps!

Jenny xx
