Advice on a share

Hi everyone

I have decided my horse isnt getting the attention she needs from myself or excersize and I am having money difficulties but really dont want to get rid of her so I am considering getting a sharer.

I have heard good things about this and bad, I have been a sharer myself and loved it but I am wary because of her being my horse and wondering if I could trust someone to have a share in her.

Any opinions really welcome!!

Thanks

Re: Advice on a share

It is a difficult one, but as you have been a sharer before you know that it can work. I think you are looking at your options in a sensible way as it will help you out financially until your situation changes. From what I have read and spoke to people who share I think as long as you have written agreements so that there can be no confusion over who does what and who pays for what, also maybe if you were going to sell your horse that the sharer would have the first refusal and how much notice you would both give each other if the sharing would be terminated..... For me personally I think sharing is a great way for people who have not had a horse and are thinking of buying a horse as this gives them the experience and insight into how much horses cost to keep and the time that they need, also they have the safety of knowing that you are on hand with any advise as it is your horse and you will make sure that your horse is looked after correctly so they will learn from you...... also if it was me I would need to know that they have had lessons and that they have been riding for a while and know what they are doing with my horse. I think if you look around take your time you could find the perfect partner to share

If you do get a sharer, make sure you get a contract drawn up, just incase.

Good luck!
