Passports

Hi everyone,

I'm a bit confused about the passport system.

Looking to buy an ex-racehorse who is with a "owner" who had him from a Race Yard. But when looking at the passport it is in the name of the race yard and not the "owner". Is this usual?

I thought anyone who purchased a horse had to declare being the new owner. Is is the case that they may have sent away a form to change this and its in the interim, or should this be a concern?

Cheers

Re: Passports

Why don't you check it out wi the racing yard..
I can't see tho it being too much of a problem.. as the racing yard will be the one moving the horse around.. And horses are meant to be acompanied by their passports.. I suppose if they were pulled and the passport was in the owners name then there would be more questions as some of these authorities are a bit dim...

I agree with asking the yard owners, also you could go on the passport site they have questions and answers on horse passports
