gutted :-Am i reaching for the stars
i really just need to know something i have been desperately searching (have been for ages for a fantastic horse to loan with perhaps v.t.b.)
Although i have spent absolutely ages on this laptop scouring sites in the vein hope i can find just one person with the right horse for me , i seem unable to do so , and i really feel like giving up. It's heartbreaking right now i would settle for a bucking bronco.(lol) I offer a fantastic quality home life (owners can visit whenever), knowledgeable , genuine caring and loving home .With a owner who will be so devoted , i have had a eleven year break and have started searching, after wanting to return for forever. "An ethos of mine a good rider can get a horse to listen a great rider listens back." I know i will be rusty , and perhaps if i started lessons this may make me a more credible choice , however i would prefer to have lesson on something of my own , so i can bond with him/her (hope this makes sense). I am searching for a loan schoolmaster/mistress all-rounder type 15+hh. Genuine honest reliable and sane, a confidence giver . To help me return to a sport i thoroughly enjoyed and was very passionate about. I was hoping to be able to enjoy those wonderful crisp morning hacks with my daughter and her pony and am so frustrated i am unable to find a horse i can cherish:-(. . I have posted in several forums but nothing ?? am i doing something wrong am i really just reaching for that back of beyond ??.please can someone just give me a little hope. |

Re: gutted :-Am i reaching for the stars
Have you looked on Project horses? It's a website that initially was used for people to try to find experienced homes for horses with 'issues' but recently it's become a more general site and often there is something very small wrong with the horse but the owner cannot cope with it (for example one horse on there has a pollen allergy..otherwise a perfect horse but because of where the owner lives it's a nightmare..move it to the coast and I'll bet it will be fine
). It's well worth trawling through the ads and keeping an eye on the site, I know a number of people who have rehomed wonderful horses through it.Project Horses 15hh to 16hh |

Re: gutted :-Am i reaching for the stars
Be very careful of the project horseswebsite as there are some seriously bad people selling on there.
You need to look at it from a horse owners point of view. I would not loan any horse I was selling (nor loan any horse full stop)as there are so many problems with it. If you ruin the horse in any way then you could send a horse back that the owner is unable to correct therefore not be able to sell on. If you are serious about owning your own horse then get out there and start searching to buy. |

Re: gutted :-Am i reaching for the stars
Hey there, you see it seems since I've left loaning has become the "bad word "in horse ownership. I look as loaning being way harder that actually buying , owners can stop check whenever , so you have to always be on your best behaviour. You don't want to let any owner down , never mind the owner or the horse .
Yes, you probably get some wanna bees screwing up horses that make it so much more difficult for genuine people.t loan. I want to loan from someone who cherished there horse to much to sell, or loan for a short period with definite view to buy. I have four children, tw leonbergers and one akita , pus my daughters pony (just had to buy a full wardrobe for a young welsh d cross, he's a peculiar shape) love him including tack -D. Hence why loan with definite view to buy, i would never ever dream of screwing anything up , in fact i am having to do allot f unscrewing on my daughters pony bless him . When we bought him my sister (very horsey, just got her a.i., competed when younger and even got shortlisted for Olympics) said he was slightly ferrell, remember sold as child's first pony (lol). He is turning in to a fab pony and is absolutely stunning and a real friend , but it takes time , His trot is beautiful and he tracks fantastically , his canter we are working on bless him , his jumping well , my god he can jump, but he is afraid of them (lol) so we need to very patient and loose jump him. He started at first by jumping poles (lol). I love him to bits and cherish him , he's not mine even . |

Re: gutted :-Am i reaching for the stars
I currently have residing in my friends field (lucky she has taken him on long term loan from me) a stunningly beautiful section d x arab, see below..my gorgeous boy, who I loaned 5 years ago. I took him for a year while my cob was being backed and bought on...and his owners disappeared!! Only after giving me his passport and a legal document gifting him to me!!!! He's 100% in every way!! Goes barefoot, hasnt' had a days illness and is perfect to hack/show/jump etc etc!!
He came through Project Horses and the reason he was on there? Because they said he was difficult to mount...all I did was get the back guy out and he found a slight twist in his spine, sorted with 2 weeks rest and some manipulation and I go myself a free wonderful horse. The only reason I don't keep him now is because I cannot afford to keep 2 horses and my cob is my dream horse so Danny luckily now lives with a wonderful family with acres of land and lots of other equine companions, a much better life than I could offer him. And btw all the horses they currently have, around 5 I think, are all loan horses!!! So there are perfectly good horses out there available on loan. Just keep looking and you'll find one. ![]() ![]() |

Re: gutted :-Am i reaching for the stars
With the current economic climate I have come across loads of horse share ads on the web in Norfolk but my mate in Yorkshire is having major problems finding a share. He's been searching since the summer. It takes time but hopefully you'll get lucky
