Assistance please....Anyone..?

This might be a long shot, But here goes.

I am based in the Bristol / Southglos area, And for the last 2 years been looking for a small horse or pony to loan. Along the way I have managed to meet scammers, People trying to sell me their ponies, and rescues. All of which I cant afford at present.

(As nearly all my money is being spent on my pet rescue.!)

Maybe im looking for the impossible, But here goes:
I’m looking for a small horse or pony between Shetland size to 14 / 15hh.
Within my local distant, I don’t mind travelling for the right pony.
Good weight carrier,
NON aggressive.

This is for me, a 22 year old to get back into horses and ponies, I will be doing all the hard work, If any, and the main riding is for my younger brothers and sister in law (All between the ages of 11+15.)

I used to work on a weekend with my local stables, And even started teaching whilst being there, but since I have moved I have lost all connections.
The reason I am looking for a pony is because I had a bad experience with a horse (17hh) and also because the children are rather nervous of bigger horse’s.

At present, I can offer a small cut towards the care, but ideally I would be willing to assist in all stable duties, to loan the pony for 3 days per week one day being a weekend.

If you feel you could assist me, in any way please don’t hesitate to contact me!

Many thanks for reading in advance.

Hi,judging by the ages of the pespective riders i would say shetland-12.2hh will be too small,13.2+ would be more realistic,as long as no on is overly heavy.Have you put any advertsin your local horse shops asking for a share, also freeads, adtrader, preloved, and many horse sites offer adverising.

Re: Assistance please....Anyone..?

I have looked at local rescues and to be fair, I would be selfish if i applied for one, Just to have the animal sent back after 2-3 months, Of not being able to afford one. Thanks for the advice though

Have you heard of the Horse Gossip forum, they have a section for loan ponies/horses. Its really easy to follow once you have registered, scroll down the page and you'l find the Loan/Sell section. May be worth a try you could even put your request on it aswell. (just google 'horse gossip') any probs give me a shout.

Re: Assistance please....Anyone..?

Part loan as you were thinking is a good way to go then you only share the costs, we all would like to have a horse or pony that doesn't cost a lot but they do. Part loan is really good to start with as it also gives you an idea of the full cost implications should you decide to take one on your self........ good luck
