Field clean up mission

Today me and next door were walking the dogs by the field 'Biscuit' is in, and the woman who lives next to the field was out talking to her.

She say she sees a guy in a red car come occasionaly but shes not sure what he actually does.. he doesn't check the horse over, or feed her or pick up any poop or check the water..

So we decided to just go and pick up all the rubbish.

We collected half a black bin bag full of rubbish! There were broken beer cans by the water bath, and loads of bits of plastic bag and crisp packets.

Biscuit followed me round everywhere, her nose practically touching my shoulder

We emptied the water.. it's in an old bath, which has the plug welded in but its a bit rusty.. The sides were caked in dried rust water and dirt.
So just behind the field is a lorry yard, and there was a hose that just reached the bath so we borrowed a brush and cleaned it out, it took ages!
She looked happy when it was full of clean water though!

We had to remove a bit of wire about a meter long, and loads of bits of wood that used to be the shelter cos they had nails in them.

I took my rubber dog brush with me and gave her a bit of a brush. She loved it!

She looked a bit upset when we left. But I feel better leaving her now the field is safer.

That was my good deed for the day

Re: Field clean up mission

shame is biscuit is probably one of the nicest horse out there but unfortunatly although there is slight neglect there he does turn up and as long as there is water and in winter a rug on its back to the likes of the rspca there is no concern for neglect, perhaps ask the owner if he would mind you helping out slightly like grooming etc,in your own way come across that you will be doing him a favour aswell as him doing you one
