Re: please help the Horse and Pony Sanctuary

Is that a serious website??! - the spelling and grammar is just painful to read - spell check perhaps! - would make the website a bit more professional so people would take it seriously! - get rid of the cheesy fairy too!!!

She lives in a caravan with 10 dogs and 8 cats, is running it on a shoe string - that is not a rescue but someone's pets that have got out of hand and someone who doesn't know when to say no! And one of her dogs attacked a neighbors dog and cost a huge amount in vet bills - proper fencing and facilities perhaps and less dogs?!
She doesn't need farm insurance if inviting members of the public to visit - she would need the same sort of insurance petting zoos have not to mention facilities - a legal and costly nightmare waiting to happen by the sounds of it!

Rescues take huuuuge financial resources, they are not something you do like this!! I admire her morals but maybe sticking to having a few pets that no-one wanted and keeping it that way rather than trying to get members of the public to pay ridiculous amounts of money - who would part with £40 per month (am assuming that is what morth means?!) to keep someone's pets! And to advertise herself as a sanctuary/rescue is a disaster, being on a shoe string is asking for trouble, but to then possibly add to that already stretched budget by getting more animals!? - it will get to the point that corners will be cut - will it be vet bills, vaccinations or feed? I've seen it happen before - I had a friend who started out like this on her small holding - within a few years her running costs were 35 grand just for the basics - she and her husband worked full time, they did some massive fundraisers, as well as a team of volunteers, she eventually went under.
I take on animals that no-one wants - far more than this lady - and I would never dream of asking the public to pay for them, it is my choice to have them and i wouldn't take them on if I couldn't afford them, that is why I work!!

Sorry but I wouldn't give this lady money I'm afraid - yes her heart is in the right place but situations like these get out of hand quickly and before you know it you have a hoarder and animals suffering through lack of funds!

Sorry, I did look at the website briefly but it was so poorly written I thought it was a scam! Didn't get as far as finding out the details AlexArt posted, but after reading that I would be inclined to agree with him/her.
