RIP Stormy
been a mixed few days, had my MIL stuck here with us when Easy Jet cancelled her flight back to France (not due to Snow I might add but shift change which stinks after getting them all on the plane for two hours) last night we got a rather distressing call to say our lovely old girl Storm has died, she had a great innings for a native dartmoor pony at nearly 40 years but her ending was not the gentle one we all hoped for
Blaye has some real problems with gypsies and sadly they started shooting in my MILs paddock yesterday afternoon scared both horses badly and Stormy just dropped down dead in the middle of the field My poor FIL has had to deal with everything and the knackers are coming in today thanks to some of their french friends who kindly helped with the paperwork
Absolutely gutted they do shoot locally but there are restrictions in place and none allowed near MILs paddocks they didn't care about the damage they'd done. Only saw Stormy a couple of weeks ago and she was in great shape for an old lady.
Ben my MILs Dales pony from Delia at Akehurst stud and has been put on tranqs hes always had her for company and in his 20s hes just not used to being without her. Am hoping they can find a nice local rescue mare to come keep him company.
RIP sweetheart xxx
