I want to learn horse riding....advice?

but i'm scared.....

its been like, since i was 11 (which was like...2 decades ago lol) that i rode. I quit around that time after i fell off. It wasn't like a huge bad fall but it was enough to scare me.

Now lately i've been thinking of broadening my interests a bit more and thought of maybe looking into learning again. But i'm scared of falling. I'm scared of doing something wrong and getting thrown of a horse again.

Advice?

The saying goes, your not a proper rider until you fall off 3 times!!n so i must be an excellent rider!!

No advice, maybe just start ona complete bombproof school robot to build your confidence up, just go from there! best of luck x

Can't say the falling off 3 times thing is true.
I'm a good rider, but falling off isn't a lighthearted topic for me. Everytime i've fallen off i've seriously hurt myself, can#t say it's made my riding better, infact, with health complications it's now causing me, it's made me a worse rider.

I'd say put your faith in riding schools. Make sure you get some references, riding schools, good ones, cater for the rider and usually wont move you up a level until you're comfortable and the instructor is sure about it.
Good luck

You'll not get far without a good teacher that you get on well with and perhaps more importantly a good strong cob with a kindly temperament.

The teacher tells the horse what to do and the horse teaches you to ride.

Go along to the local school, say hello, buy a lesson and see how you get on.

Good advice...... also schooling areas are either sand or rubber it isn't like it used to be years ago where people was taught in a field
