Re: Any Mini Shetland experts

a shetland is a miniatre if it is 34 inches high over that it is a standard shetland. as for riding, you would only put a small 2/3 year old on the back of a 34 inch, they are sturdy but a shetland ie 36 inch could b ridden by a small lightish child it would depend on the size of the pony and the child. common sense shold tell you, you wouldnt put a 2 year old onto a 15 h and you wouldnt put a 15 year old on the back of small pony/shetland is this for you or a child

jenn - our min shetland drives a small one peron cart with ease

eeek all our boys are well tiny for sure our shetland is under 34 inchs we are talking toddlers as our minihorses take a lot less weight ridden than mini shetland though ours mainly used in cart..we do show the wee lad so not just put in field and left ..me need to look into other things for him to do as getting bored
