Hips?? My back pain, now im starting to wonder

If it could be my hip??? I really hope its not, but the pain is on the right hand side of my botton and directly on the side of it also, and rite down my right leg................Could this be to do with my hip??? Becuase its not like my normal back/sciatica pain now...........Im really fed up with it now its starting to interfere in my daily routine as in that i cant even get my own shoes and socks on any ideas folks please????? Im at the docs next week so will ask him, but just wondered if anyone knew on here??? If youve suffered with a hip problem???????

It could be , but it might be sciatica if its travelling down your leg, what sort of pain is it?.I have advanced OA in my right hip but i tend to get referred pain in my knees, though i have lower back ache, sciatica is very painful i had it abot 25 years ago.

Hey Hun feel so sorry for you.

Back/hip pain is awful.

I suffer with 2 advanced degenerative discs in my lower back and then started to get pain in my left hip. I too thought it was my hip but after scans they have said it is my Sacroiliac joint. These are connected to the lower back (google will explain better than I can!!lol).

It started with intense burning and pain and gave me referred pain down the leg. I now have both sides affected.

I swore blind it was my hip as the pain was in that area.

I real feel for you. I have become an expert at lassooing my knickers onto my foot!! But a Helping Hand is a godsend. Try and invest in one they are great!

Hope all goes well at the docs. Hopefully he will refer you.

If it is your hip get it replaced ASAP. My Dad suffered for ages before he did anything and couldn't walk without a stick in the end but eventually had his replaced last year.

He is like a New man

My Grandad just had his repaced aged 91

He had been complaining of back pain and in the end they realised it was his hip.

Hmmm trouble is because of my size they wont operate and because of my other problems i cant exercise either i can only walk and thats at a snails pace, so im bugga'd all round really lol

I really feel for you... ive suffered with sciatica since a bad fall about 8 years ago. i get the pain all down my left leg right down to my ankle. also when its cold i get a heavy achy feeling in all my lower joints (im only 24!) at one point my left hip joint used to grind when i walked and i went to see a specialist convinced i had arthritis but a scan showed that my hip was normal and the specialist said that the pain was connected with my back. (he couldnt explain what the grinding was about)

ive since got the horses and the daily exercise of mucking out has really done me the world of good although i cant do much riding. i dont get the grinding pain so much now although i dread the cold because i ache so much. it makes me really bad tempered!

whatever is making your hip hurt i really hope it is sorted soon xx

Hun i feel for you. I get ain in my hips. I'm ok sitting and pottering round the house, but i can't walk very far even goin round shops is a chore. They've put mine down to an epidural gone wrong, but they won't do anything cos im obese so it's my weight.

Snap as in the wont do the op unless i show willing on my part by losing some w8, but how the heck do they expect us to exercise when we cant even walk idiots it really annoys me, but i suppose i can understand why they wont do it.......................
