Re: Any Flatcoat Retriever owners?

quiddelbach do u breed flatties? puppy pics are a must please

skye is small for the breed. when people who know flatties see her, they usually comment on how petite she is. shes perfectly in proportion though!! hehe.

she weighs around the 24-25kg mark. her sire was huuuuuge.

Ducky, from the photos of Skye she looks about the same sort of build as my flattie Mario, VERY similar

Re: Any Flatcoat Retriever owners?

Hi Tashi, how old is Chase? Mario has the same typical very distinctive headshape but as yet has far less feathering to the back of his forelegs and underbelly, he seems similar in build to Chase but is far more leggy at the moment and though "just" a pet would make an excellent working dog as he lives to retrieve especially from water. What he still has at the moment (which I can't see on Chase) is quite a prominent occipital ridge which I believe is a breed fault? My GR was the same but it became less obvious as he muscled up a bit as he got older. Not sure how far you have to go back in the pedigree to state a bloodline but the name Riversflight is well represented on his pedogree certificate if that means anything to you Tashi?

Re: Any Flatcoat Retriever owners?

He is not fully done yet. He will grow, he will get muscle and his coat will come on, honest

Yes, I do breed, but only for myself. No more litters here for 3 years or so

That first link on page one is to my photobucket page, you can see both my litters from Brooke on there, and Brooke from puppy on.

Zanna is Brooke's daughter from her first litter, and I have just kept Bess from her second and last litter.

Zanna's sire is Achilty Red Cascade and Bess's is Gowran Indigo Extra. Personally I stick to English lines, and predominantly working. I will show Bess as a puppy but once we get training seriously all my available money and time will go to that.

Brooke has been out picking up this Jan, her puppies were 11 weeks and she is as fit as a fiddle, just a little out of coat.

Riversflight is a well known dual purpose line, Chase is now 3 but was about 2 when that photo was taken, Chase is also from dual purpose lines but is not worked due to time factors (her owner owns a beef and sheep farm) I only handle her, our main breed here is the goldens.

Re: Any Flatcoat Retriever owners?

marios coat will come in time. skyes didnt really come in til she was over 1.

iv no idea of my girls lines coz she was from an "unplanned" mating and isnt kc reg. her parents were both kc reg, and the guy said they descended from a crufts champion. but he could just have been saying that!
shes a wee stunner though hehe.
