That's simply not true. If they did what every individual wanted with their money, tax would be alot more. If you don't like it don't vote Labour. Simple as.

Maybe you would be happier in a communist state as opposed to a market state?

No one likes paying tax. It's not mainly the goverments fault that tax costs alot (by no means am i saying they are 100% responsible with it). It is the peoples' fault like kids who intentionally have children young so they can get a free place, and live out the rest of their lives on benfits at the cost of people like you and me. And people who blag they're disabled to avoid working so they can live off the state.

It's people like this that need to be stopped. That'd save you money. Morally this country is just wrong, people are rewarded for being failures and scum. And punished for being successful.

Vote Conservative if you want that to change.

Plus for instance - would this 'say for instance £45' that you quoted be payable for each pet owned? Or would it be a one off payment that covered them all?

And also, what about people on benefits? How would that work? Most people who live on benefits love their pets - say if they couldn't afford the licence?
Ownership test: sounds good to me! But that is part of the license???

£45: Yes the fee is to say you are allowed to own pets, not just to say you can have a dog for example.

Benefits: Having pets is a luxury. I'd imagine people who already have pets could get some license allowance. But there would be no allowance for new licenses.

If you can't afford a pet you shouldn't buy one. And I don't think £45 would stop someone, however poor from getting a pet.

But hen again, as part of the vetting process, household income should be a major factor to validity.

This is exactly my point!

Re: Pet License

I think generally and I mean generally its the bigger dogs that tend to be in the headlines causing the attacks that are the ones with owners who arent being responsible and they are not cheap to feed surely so if you can afford to feed something of that size even if you are on benefits u couldnt really argue that u cant afford a licence.

No one made them buy a big dog, it their choice, a choice they should have made responsibly. If they are on benefits, to me that indicates they cant afford a pet.

So yes, you're right!

Do a search on Germany's stance on owning a dog, you'll see where I am coming from

By not voting you automatically give up your right to complain. If enough people have you attitude you are adopting, then this country will always be run by Labour.

Totally agree it would be just another way of getting more money from the general public

Where we live it's more common to see a total eclipse than to see a policeman walking round

While the vet thing sounds like a good idea i'm wondering whether it would mean that pets could suffer without cause if owners didn't have a licence and were scared to take their pets in

I have voted in the past but can't see the point as they seem all out to line their own pockets. Politcians agendas now seem personal instead of whats good for the UK people

By not voting for any party it shows that people have little confidence that any party are trying to make things good for us and again just out to score points against the other parties, instead of really listening to the general public.
