yes it is hard, but as you have said you have allready found very good homes, with people you know,,so you can still see them, and keep in contact. Its very hard when someone has one of your babies and lives very very far away and promises to stay in touch but doesnt,,,then its hard, but thankfully that doesnt happen to much,,,its much easier these days to stay in touch through the internet, with updates and pictures,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

"To get rid of them" is very wrong terminology. May be better - to find obedient slaves with comfy and loving home?

Like someone said do not think of it as 'getting rid' - you will be there with them to help them mature and then provide them with loving homes - where they will thrive.
We raise our children in the hope that they will one day be mature and educated and head off into the world without us and we will be proud Mummies. You are doing the same for your fur babies.
It is far better for them to be provided with new homes than for you to keep them if you feel it will make the quality of life for all you cats poorer.

Good Luck - do you have any homes planned yet?

Re: this is gunna sound soo stupid lol

I must admit it was hard when i came to find new homes for the puppies ,we had already said we would keep one.

But as the time came closer we kept another and then another, but i knew i could not keep all 5 puppies plus mum and dad.

so the first pup went to a lovely family and i was not to upset as she was the first one ,but when the 2nd came to go to her new home well i burst in to tears when i picked up my daughter from her boyfriends 30 mins after the little darling had gone.
But they have been in contact and sent me photos and don`t live to far away.
But the first puppys new family i have never heard from again so thats a bit upsetting but i know they both went to very loving homes.

The weird part is that both the pups new familys come from the same area ,so you never know they could bump into each other one day.

Re: this is gunna sound soo stupid lol

It is really hard to let them go. We keep ours for 13 weeks(cat club rules) so they are very much part of the family by the time they leave. The hardest part is making sure they go to loving forever homes(not always the case sadly) and they are happy & safe.
In an ideal world, It would be lovely to keep them all, lol.

Re: this is gunna sound soo stupid lol

I was thinking how hard it was going to be to let our kittens go to new homes, it's our 1st litter and they are all sooooo cute, but luckily, my sister in law wants 1, mother in law wants 1, and neighbour wants 1, we'd already decided to keep 1 ourselves so problem sorted because I know I'll still see themYAY!.......just a thought.....does anyone think it would be a problem if our next door neighbour takes 1 of our kittens?......will it wander back to us being so close to mum and a sibling?
