Does anyone worry about firework night?

Normally we are very lucky when it comes to firework night, As we are in a small and quiet area, and most of the firework shows are a good 3-4 miles away! (Mainly local farmers) But this year i have a few new reasons to go the full works with fireworks - saftey - pets....

In the last year we have had a new shopping center built and they are holding a firework display. 1/2 miles away from our house!

The ass-ho*e neighbour!

We share the same landlord and now for the past 6 months he has tried to make our lifes hell!

first he tried to run porsha over....He and his stupid mates thought it was a good laugh! I didn't...Reported it but nothing happened.

Then he was over heard in the local shop but another neighbour, Saying to a friend that he was going to aim the fireworks towards our house, Or tie 1 to one of our cats! Then they burst out laughin!

How do you manage to keep:

4 cats, 1 kitten, 2 dogs + 2 kids in and safe at firework night?

I have never had to do this before, But i know what he done last time and i dont want him to even get as close to my pets or brothers???

Advice please..................

Re: Does anyone worry about firework night?

If you have a dog crate, i would put the dogs in the crate if they fit in together, and then the cat left free. put them all into one room, close the curtains, put the light on and put a television on quite loud (obviously not loud enough for the neighbours to complaine) but to drown the noise outside. I would put a blanket over the dogs cage (half of it), so they feel safe, the cats should be ok then to walk free around the room, and the dogs wont go for them in panick. I put all my dogs into one room and do the above, and they are fine. My tele is always on louder than usuall, I tell my neigbours and they are fine with it. But obviously your neibours is an ********. So dont tell him, and there isnt alot the police can do when it is firework night. If you are staying home then I would keep them all in the same room as you, but if you are going out then make sure you have that tele on,.................Good Luck hun..............xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Re: Does anyone worry about firework night?

I would have a word with your landlord too, as fireworks go on after newyear, tell him you dont want to casue trouble but this is what he was telling another neighbor and you are worried about your pets, as you cant keep them in all the time. Good Luck.

Re: Does anyone worry about firework night?

Personally I'd call the cops so they have a record of your neighbours threats incase anything happens.

It's gonna be fireworks until January now, I think its appauling that they are allowed all through the year! We heard our first one in July

really! wow thats ridiculous! I dont mind fireworks at a proper display area but think they should not be sold to the public - thats where all the problems start

We couldnt believe it either it was about 1am too

I have signed sooo many petitions for them not to be sold to the public and the government just ignore them. Its a real sore point for me as its just like handing out machine guns for 4 months of the year, no difference imo.
